Next Concert Series: Let The Knowing Speak

The African American Composers Initiative will present its eighth annual benefit concerts on January 28 and 29 at 3 pm at the Performing Arts Center of Eastside College Preparatory School in East Palo Alto, CA.

The theme for the concerts, “Let the Knowing Speak,” sets the tone for the program:  music born of African American history and told in the powerful language of spirituals, blues, jazz, instrumental music and song.
Joining our roster of performers this year is distinguished tenor Othello Jefferson, gifted saxophonist Oscar Pangilinan, and the marvelous modern dancers of Eastside College Prep. Returning will be beloved guest composers and artists Dr. Valerie Capers, John Robinson and Joshua McGhee, each of whom has composed a new work for AACI. Other composers represented will be Zenobia Powell Perry, Margaret Bonds,  Dolores White, and Dizzie Gillespie.

Tickets are available HERE for Saturday and Sunday, January 28 and 29, 2017 at 3 pm
